You make it sound like he's dead. 8-)
Of course, those of us "in the know" guess that you are talking about his early theories about information loss in black holes.
As the great scientist he is, he openly admitted to being wrong about that, saying that the alleged loss of information in black holes was his "biggest blunder".
Kudos to scientists like that, who do *not* hang on to their theories till their dying days -- unlike e.g. Einstein and his religious fanaticism that made him waste the major part of his life trying to disprove quantum mechanics. "Gott würfelt nicht..."
