The PSU fan and the CPU fan are important enough, but I would say that a clogged up fan on the graphics card is one of the most common reasons for a BSD (Blue Screen of Death in Windows) or similar in other environments.
The card is usually situated in an awkward position and there's no protection from dust on it. So the first thing I do whenever a client has problems with his/her desktop usually is cleaning out the graphics card fan. In circa 90% of the cases that solves the problem.
Alas, now I seldom get the opportunity to charge anyone for this, so now I give you that tip for free... 8-)
