It was the immigration issue that seemed to be the deciding factor. In the poorer areas immigrants are having to be given housing, benefits, etc., etc., which means that there is less money for the native residents.

Yes, he did. But it's disappointing for young people, when they've been told that they *can* make a difference, to find that it doesn't always work for them. *We* know that, of course, but the youngsters don't have the experience of what democracy means.

I wrote to him that running away to Spain isn't going to solve Britain's problems. He needs to stay and become an influence in the years to come. But you remember what it's like to be young. You're idealistic and want things to happen *now*!
