I wouldn't agree, but I don't suppose we can prove that either way.
The fact remains that there wasn't anyone that the French people actually wanted, even at the first poll.
Interesting that the one politician at the moment who is galvanising support is Theresa May. When people are canvassed they feel that, although she doesn't belong to a party they support, she is the only one who is strong enough to lead us at the moment.
