Well, if you mean by a good spot a place where others are gathered with the same intention then that may be true. I was happy enough to get away from the crowds into a country lane.

Why just the Middle Ages? Yes, they would have been used to the winter solstice even if they weren't comfortable with it, but a lunar or a solar eclipse? It may well have sent some people doolally.

Of course! I've just had my eldest granddaughter staying with me for the first time. She's at Southampton University studying French, German and Russian and wanted a few days where she could practise her French - and to be with me, of course!). In the past her Belgian stepmother took her frequently to Belgium but that seems to have stopped now. Anyway, yesterday I took her to Lisieux (in my nice new Porsche!) to catch a train to Paris where she'll spend a few days with her boyfriend.
