MvdV> And leave it to "the market? Yes, that will change the situation. It is
MvdV> what we did with the gas, the water and the electricity. Twenty five
MvdV> years ago the power was in the care of engineers that took pride in
MvdV> keeping things running. Now it is in the care of managers who's first
MvdV> priority is to keep themselves and the shareholders happy. Did that
MvdV> change the situation? Sure it did! It became more expensive and less
MvdV> reliable. A change indeed. But not for the better...

You've suffered from that too in the Netherlands?

Here in Sweden we have exactly the same situation. Just 30 years ago we had to pay what the electricity actually cost to produce. Here in Sweden, with an abundance of hydroelectric power, that meant five Swedish öre (half a Euro cent) per kWh -- because that's the actual cost producing electricity from our hydroelectric plants.

But after our politicians let the market take over, we, the consumers, now have to pay the spot price on the European Electricity spot market -- meaning that sometimes the spot price is what it costs to produce electricity with gas gussling fossil fuel generators. We've never been below 30 Swedish öre (3 Euro cents) but quite often above SEK1 (ten Euro cents) since then.

Way to go, all you stupid politicians thinking that the US capitalist way is the way to go.

And the same goes for Telco, education, hospitals, and so on. It's been all donated to the "market" for free and that's why Sweden is no longer one of the top countries in any way in any statistics.

   Hail the Market! Yeah, sure...
