   You don't seem to understand the latency with a satellite connection. Have you never seen, on the news, when a reporter out on the field gets a question from the news room, and it takes several seconds before he or she replies?

   That's what the latency from geostationary satellites (at 36kkm) gives you. It's acceptable when you get a live report from a far distance but it sure as hell will not be acceptable when you surf the web.
