we could begin to uuencode tic and nodelist in plain text files, that have a trigger enc when sent just like pkt for plain pkt files, now create a tosser that unpack both on recived stage, and create a new uuencoded to downlinks, viola no loosed files anymore
amd it could be sent new files every secs
or possible use xml encoding of binarie data
