okay with that, it just possible msged does not use charset tables correct, in how write tables is made, and you read that note on unicode in jamnntpd about its still work in progress ?
for the msged part of unicode its still there, and i still have to see it done more work on this terms

i remember some that made code to amiga crashmal for ums and more or less pint ums reader on amiga was super stable, sadly ums was limited to 4GB first BLOCKIO on any devices, not just on 4GB Block in partions :/
amiga have never had problems on harddisk size, since the block table is 64bit
but the underlaying filesystems was some places just 32bit, with gives the problems of bigger harddisks
on top of that ums was optimized for harddisks under 32bit limit, so bigger harddisks did crash if it just one single byte over 4GB in size
and now nokia 8 is out :=)
