Hearing these names, I now think that it actually was a Bingo device. It was not for 1200DM, but certainly several 100 bucks. It did not do much more than ISDN-routing my ppp connections to our university's computing centre back then, but it already allowed for the mentioned channel bundling, getting you a 128kbit connection for the price of two short-distance calls. I retired it when the first DSL connections became available for a reasonable price.
