Where did you pick up that rumour? There was some "news" like that a couple of years ago, but it was published on the 1st of April... imho DCF77 will be around for a very long time (like LORAN will, too), it carries not only time but also weather data and there are plans to use it for spreading information in case of desaster scenarioes, and quite a lot of things rely on it.
