If I got it right, 65535 is -1, since the 16 bit address value is signed. The valid range for the net number is 1 - 32767 and for the node number it's -1 - 32767. -1 is a special case for node number requests. Therefore 2:-1/-1 is an invalid address. 2:240/-1 would fine for someone requesting his first node number in 2:240, but not for a nodelist entry.
And what I would like to know is why the hell address values are signed. I know tons of communication protocols and Fido is the only one using signed address values. It's simply wrong.
