You can mitigate the afix problem by adding a dummy echo nobody can subscribe to as the very last echo. Simply put all echos into a dedicated file which is included by the main config and add the dummy echo after the include in the main config. This way automatically created echos will be added to the dedicated echo config file and don't mess up the dummy echo. I don't know if the issue was fixed meanwhile.
