Well, EcomStation 2.1 isn't a full rewrite of OS/2 Warp, but nearly anything works properly now, compared to Warp 4.5. Even MultiCore (smp-kernel) JFS as FileSystem, and a huge crowd of software are included.

If you use native OS/2 Software, there is no need for Windows. ;-) Because of using virtual Machines like VM-Ware wich is not included on EcomStation you have no need to use 16bit DOS. ;-)

OS/2 aka EcomStation has some major features, compared to other os's: - it works on aktually buyable x86 hardware - it works with all network-protocols - it is absolutly secure against viruses/trojans - it is absolutly secure against backdors from GCHQ/NSA

As for Filegate's OS2 offerings (in English), that has all but VC> died. Same with our russion and european kollegues. OS/2 has a tiny, but very interested usership. Most of us using OS/2 since a few years and are technically practiced. there is no need for a special OS/2 network.
