GB didn't "lose" India due to a war, except in the sense that the UK was bled white by two world wars in less than 40 years, and had no strength left to hold on to it's colonies. As for Israel, the French and British divided up what was once the Ottoman Empire after WWI, and we are still seeing the results today. Such a pity that Lawrence of Arabia and his friends were betrayed so shamelessly by both British and French after the war.

WWI was the core reason for many of the problems and aggressions we must deal with even today.
