Of course - I have used a German keyboard since I bought my first computer in 1987. But I have no particular wish to make things for others more difficult, and thus use the romanized transliterations every German understands, even if he/she doesn't use them personally. This has been common in anything written in a fido echo as long as I've been in fido (Summer 1993).
Your hang-up is simply that you can't stand anyone using your first name as that would normally understood. Instead, you insist on people using special Swedish characters which usually are unreadable in fido. And that from someone who claims German ancestry and a knowledge of German. No tolerance whatever, as long as I've "known" you in fido.
This would be like someone called Tschekov (transliterated from Cyrillic) insisted on using some kind of unreadable Russian characters that don't translate properly except maybe in emails, and are totally unknown outside Russia. It doesn't help you, hinders other who want write to you, and makes you a laughing stock in the English areas such as this one.
