Maybe, but that is still no synonym for "fuck". All "fluchen" means is "to curse" with no necessary sexual connotation.

And although I've lived in all parts of Germany except Bavaria, "verdammt" only means "damned". I have no idea how anyone could associate that with "fuck".

As far as I'm aware, the word is used in colloquial German throughout the country.The only other equivalent would be "bumsen". But that has been a milder form in the areas I've lived in (Swabia, Rheinland-Palentiate, Hannover, Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia).
I'm still convinced that Henri doesn't know what he's talking about.
