Seriously. Because such lines would have to be installed by Deutsche Telekom, which owns the so-called "final mile" (from the street into houses) in Germany.

Some maybe. But protest all you want. And take what you can get. People in the know are not pleased, but we all are helpless in view of the marriage of politics with the Deutsche Telekom.

As already mentioned, Germany is unfortunately NOT the pioneer in DSL connections. This is well known, but other than protests, there have been no reactions.
