Hello Ward!

Try us.

Hmm, my turn to remember the first buch of boxes I worked on:

IBM 1401   -- plus unit record equipment, tape puches, card puches both hand
and machine, sorters etc. -  Worked on 1961 to 65.

IBM 7094  -- linked to 1401 with 16+ tape drives. This one was in view of a
very large windows in the West End, London where there was always large
numbers
of pedestrians going home, paring etc all night so we would raise an arm and
at
the same time press the unload button to make all of the tape drives open the
heads and rewind/unload the tapes. Never did understand why they were
fancinated by it although we did hang up silly face's on the head fronts.

IBM 360 mid to late 60's and onwards followed by 370 and later.
running DOS, VS, MVT, MVS etc.
For ICT also read ICL
ICT 1501 * worked on 1965-9'ish
ICT 1901 thru 1907's mid 60's - O/S was George 1 thru 4.
ICL 2903 nice bit of kit that was microcoded to look like a 1900 series but I
also had a copy of microcode that made it a 360 so was able to run IBMs O/S.
ICL 2900  )
ICL 3900  ) mid 70's

Univac 1104 - Unit record systems using large removable blocks with holes
aranged in a grid that was programmed by connected any two holes with a
connecting cable.  Also used as a punched card reader input to more modern
computers.

Dec 8  ) Owned one of each that I had in my spare bedroom in 1976-7.
Dec 11 )  Mass storage was a Hard drive unit consisting of 80Mb fixed and 16Mb
removable that I still had (connected to a Cromemco system at home in the
mid/late 90's running Cromix (a unit O/S).

Micros ... Intel 4004, 8008, 8080, 6502 based mobo's with 1 to 4k Ram using a
Teletype 33 as input, punch input and output with a long length of paper tape
in a loop around small pullies or other fixings on the ceiling (ssllooww mass
storage).  Teletype 33 was connected to the Dec 8 or 11.
 - Micro makes - IMSAI (letter might not be correct) but S100 bus box with
loads of switches a la IBM 1401 style that you had to assemble/build soldering
iron to hand using a very thick how to do it manual, SWTPC (ditto but smaller
manual), Cromemco (prebuilt), North Star, Apple I (later 78-80),

I am sure I have missed a few including Burroughs kit and more Univac systems.
