MR> It there any official echolist for global Z2 echos like ENET.SYSOP?
HD> Every SysOp or Point can ask his UpLink(s) by sending a NetMail to HD> his AreaMgr with the commands: HD> %HELP HD> %LIST HD> %QUERY HD> %UNLINKED HD> in it, then you get all wich is available to you.
MR> That will give me just the view of my uplink, WR> i.e. what he thinks is available.
Yes.
MR> It might be not what's available in the backbone.
What's that? Many years ago there was one in the USA I knew. But here?
Nowadays with the FidoWeb, everyone could be a mailmover, and every node can connect to every other node if they both want that.
MR> So my uplink has the same problem too.
That's why you have to connect to many different nodes to collect what you, and/or your downlinks are interested in.
HD> And if you think there are more EchoMailArea's, ask your NEC, REC or ZEC. HD> So no EchoList is needed I think. HD> FileEchoArea's are another thing.
MR> And there the problem starts. MR> I have to talk to myself and MR> won't get any answer because I don't know it :-(
There are more people talking loud to themselves if thy are long alone ;-). Yes I understand your problem. That's why you have to look further then the length of your nose ;-).
MR> And who is the ZEC?
I think that function is vacant? You candidate? Before you ask me, no I donot have the ambition to be a *C. I do not C it, I use BBCBasic on my Raspberry Pi ;-).
Henri.
