BF> OK. Good to hear. From what I've seen on CNN, NBC and a few other US BF> news channels, the reports on Putin has been very "flat". Not mentioning BF> things like he's one of the richest men in Russia (it sure as hell is BF> not because he has such a high salary) or that some 100 friends and BF> relatives of his have gotten very lucrative positions.
JD> I think the original richest man in Russia is now in jail Trumped up JD> charges of course, and his oil company taken away from him.
Problem is there is allways information kept away from the public.
JD> Here we do not even talk about the repressive anti gay laws. BF> Exactly. The leaders of the female gay organisation (whose name I've BF> forgotten) was sentenced to several years in prison. Not very liberal...
JD> Not to mention that all girl punk rock group that was sentenced to jail JD> because they protested against putin.
Exactly, theat came to my mind too inmediately.
Free speach of thoughts is still not possible everywhere. The people in Ukraine can somehow show their feelings. I am much more concerned about the very bad situation in North Korea. Many die literally starving without food for the sake of the leaders ;-(. How long does it take until freedom will progress there too? I hope to hear that once before I am not in this world any more. It's almost 25 years ago the iron curtin (Berlin Wall) was broken. What can we do to speed up that process in N.K. too?
