BF> You've suffered from that too in the Netherlands?
Yes, Michiel is very right ;-(.
BJ> Here in Sweden we have exactly the same situation. Just 30 years ago BJ> we had to pay what the electricity actually cost to produce. Here in BJ> Sweden, with an abundance of hydroelectric power, that meant five BJ> Swedish ”re (half a Euro cent) per kWh -- because that's the actual cost BJ> producing electricity from our hydroelectric plants.
That is very very cheap. You could sell the over production on the spotmarket.
BJ> But after our politicians let the market take over, we, the BJ> consumers, now have to pay the spot price on the European Electricity BJ> spot market -- meaning that sometimes the spot price is what it costs to BJ> produce electricity with gas gussling fossil fuel generators. We've BJ> never been below 30 Swedish ”re (3 Euro cents) but quite often above BJ> SEK1 (ten Euro cents) since then.
That's even cheap.
From May 2017 until may 2018 in exact 365 days I used the following: Electra: 2830 kW/h for Euro 473,68 = Euro 0,1638 per kW/h. Gas: 627 m3 for Euro 633,48 = Euro 1,01 per m3 Gas.
From december 2016 until december 2017 Water: 15 m3 for Euro 63,19 = Euro 4,21 per m3 Water.
I have no sunpanels, because this is a corporate house I hire ;-(.
BF> Way to go, all you stupid politicians thinking that the US capitalist BF> way is the way to go.
Some things should allways be central organised at only productions coasts and for the whole comunity even on the flat lands with less people outside the city's.
BF> And the same goes for Telco, education, hospitals, and so on.
Donot forget public transport by train and bus.
BF> It's been all donated to the "market" for free and that's why Sweden is BF> no longer one of the top countries in any way in any statistics.
BF> Hail the Market! Yeah, sure...
Here to, some group of people can not operate in a market. They are made destroid ;-( Every one know that transportation by inland ships is much more economic, but in this market every inland skipper is operationg for his own, and the marketeers know that so the prices are to low to make a good living. So now even more small inland ships are destroid en hardly never build new ones, and much traffic is going by truck and many roads very full of it with many traffic jams ;-(. There is plenty room on rivers and canals to transport goods via ships. Now they want us to go green (NRMM Stage V = Euro 6), but the skippers have no money for greener engine solutions, so that will be a very slow transition. The transport organizers donot want to pay for greener solutions.
Politicians do not understand that the market solution does not work for every section in society.
Henri.
