That does not work in large tunnels such as the one in the A2 highway near Utrecht.

Yes, and not only the speeds differs, but also the odo-meter ! ;-(.
But the GPS is not accurate either. It differs several km/h's even when driving by Cruise Control. But with GPS you can better prevent fines for driving to fast. When the speed limit is 100 km/h for instance you can drive 105 at your gps without being photographed by the speedcamera, as that one lights of its flash bulb when you drive 108 km/h or faster. But today that flash is infrared and not be seen anymore. So you have to await you letterbox in your frontdoor. It's a pity that there are so many speed differences at high ways ;-(.
