I know Michiel likes to drink some alcohol now and then. So I do not understand your remark. FidoNet is not the first need in life. Although the first thing I do after changing from horizontal to vertical, i.e. standing up, is reading FidoNet EchoMail upstairs at 3rd level, even before I am dressed and having breakfest downstairs at 2nd level. My computer room is besides my sleeping room at the same 3rd level. Sometimes I call that computer room my second, pardon first night room ;-).
Besides I never drink alcohol at all, why should I?
In the first place it damages your lever, and in my case it's bad for my balance because of my bad hearing. The third reason is I do not like the taste and smell of beer and wine etc. And as I like driving bicycles and cars very much, it's not wise to drink before steering in trafic. So I do not miss it at all ;-).
And as a final result it also saves money. So not drinking alcohol only has advantages, you see ;-). And people who know me, know that I even have the same lol without alcohol as the ones around me with that poison in them ;-). May be drinking alcohol is possible, but what for? ;-).
Some skippers even drink the alcohol of their compass ;-(. After that, they do not sail anymore ;-(.

That's why I do not have a smartphone and don't use Twitter, nor FaceBook. And I am still happy with it.
