They were first and set de technology standard. All the others followed when certain people wanted to be their own network czars.

If you look how some people think it should work, there has to be:
1 Zone host 1 Region host 1 Nethost 1 Hub 1 Node.
So for every alien Zone hosted with Gert, he needs 1 address and 4 aka's. ;)
If he is using Binkd, you could ask him to present only the aka's of networks that you also participate in.
I never understood why file distribution networks need their own full zone structure. Well actualy I do, but I donot like it.
