Yes, great, convert digital information into croocked analog and then convert the analog to a compressed digital stream. at the other end do the reverse. Very efficient.

You do not have to have your own TLD to get a hostname, but it is convenient. ;)
I hosted the hostname for a IPv4/6 node for quite some time, when the sysop had no easy way to solve this. Sadly he passed away not to long ago.
I have also used dyndns in the past to list my ipv4 and ipv6 address in one hostname.
