 You can alway use all wheater tires. You would not like to use stud if not
 neccessary. They are noisy, and there is a speed limit up to what speed they
 can be used. You do  not want the studs to come out by cetripetal force.

 I personally would and do not like to drive on waht is now used as summer
 tyres, there are hardly anny cross grooves, and have poor grip when there
 is a lot of water on the road. There is no grip in the driving directions
 when the load is icy or muddy. Winter tyres on the otherhand are more noisy
 and have less grip on dry roads, they also wearout faster.
