I have a Sony DCR-TRV240E Pal, it should be able to read analog and digital tapes, and record digital tapes. There is a firewire interface, as well something usb. The latter required special drivers for Windows. I did not bother with those as firewire is well supported on Linux.
I should also have a lanc cable somewhere, but that is only usefull if you want to copy to another camera or vhs videorecorder that supports it.
However, it is still my current camera and I have not used it for quite some time. As you, I still have to move a couple tapes to computer readable storage.
I you cannot find another solution, we may be able to work somting out.
Do you have many tapes to convert? Are you in a hurry?
