Hello Björn,

On Sunday November 23 2014 22:49, you wrote to All:

One shpuld make a differnce between first Region, first net and first system outside North America.

BF> Sun_City_Fido,Karlstad,Sweden,Lennart,01146-54-166988,Svensson
BF> National Mail Sunday Evenings Only

Look closer at that same nodelist.

Contrary to the Swedish entries it is not prefixed wit a # to indicate a new entry.

Rod Smallwood in the UK was the first sysop outside NA. He was already listed in nodelist.328 of 23 Nov 1984.

http://www.textfiles.com/fidonet-on-the-internet/n1984/nodelist.328

The first NET, outside NA is no doubt net 500. At the time when Fidonet went 2D, the convention was that nets >= 500 would be nets outside NA. At that time there were used two regions. Region 1 was NA and Region 2 was Europe.

The Regions and Zones as we know them now came later. Region 20 probably was the first to organise itself into a region.

Unfortunately there is a large gap in the archives. The next nodelist I can find is #276 of 1986. Net 500 is listed there.

Cheers, Michiel
