I have read it and I can say that I am very happy to live in a country where I do not have to go through the humiliation of having to publicly beg my fellow hobbyists for money to avoid being kicked on the streets.

Same for The Netherlands. Yes we pay taxes for that of course. But I don't mind paying taxes, knowing that if it ever happens that I am in a tight spot, I can count on social security to help me out.
