Hello Ward,

On Monday November 23 2015 12:14, you wrote to me:

Arabia is not one people and one mind. Many Muslims see the arrangement as just excuse an for the US intrusion on Holy Ground.

WD> The payment for this service

Service my foot! In other countries, the US has to pay for being allowed to build military basis.

WD> is in the regulation of the price of oil-shipments to the USA.

Indeed. As one of out politicians (Pechtold) remarked the other day: "we already gave an Islamic State. It is called Saoudi Arabia".

WD> People in the USA also need to start understanding that ISIS and
WD> AlQaida basically are USAian initiatives badly gone wrong at a

Indeed.

We have a sying here: "s'lands wijs, s'lands eer". A bit hard to translate. The best I can come up with is "when in Rome do as the Romans do".

It is their country, they make the rules. Don't like the rules, don't go there.

WD> When in the 1990-ies I flew from Amsterdam to Athens and the plane
WD> continuing to Istanbul, many of the Turkish male passengers objected
WD> against a female pilot

When airborne, the law of the land of registration is in force. If you do not want a female pilot, do not fly KLM.

WD> and the crew told me that when entering Turkish controlled airspace,
WD> that female captain had to shut-up for the same reason.

s'lands wijs, s'lands eer...

WD> As for Royals, I love Queen Elisabeth II.

WD> When visiting the UK the Saudi king was invited to Sandringham, the
WD> private royal estate in the highlands. Elisabeth took him on a visit
WD> in her LandRover, driving herself. The king was abhored but had to
WD> shut up.

BOC! "s'lands wijs, s'lands eer" goes both ways. Even for royalty.

Cheers, Michiel
