He won't get his referendum because there is no majority in parliament that will support it. There is the "corrective referendum" that can be called by the people without the blessing of parliament, but that only serves to repeal laws that are already passed. Present law does not heve a possibility for the people to call a referendum about a "new subject". To change that, the constitution needs to be changed. The barriers for that are so high, that it is not going to happen in this case.

That deal went sour because he choose to walk away when the going got tough. And that is a major reason why no other party will form a coalition with him. He will not get a second chance of pulling that trick.

As long as it is below 50%, it is irrelevant. The only way he can be part of the government is when he gets an absolute majority of the votes. That is not going to happen. No way.
