So what you are saying is that because everyone understood it was impossible, they did not try. And since they did not try, it didn't work. That it didn't work proves it is impossible. And so no-one tried. Nice piece of circular reasoning Bob.
In the case of Greece it would have been quit easy to get rid of them. Just stop the flow of money. That would leve them no choice.
