I'd say their fears are justified. The moment the UK stops paying its membership contribution the stream of money going the other way will stop as well. Of course I'd say.
However ... the UK has always complained that they are a net contributor to the EU. So when they stop contributing, they should have enough money to do their own funding. Shouldn't they?
