I would have expected that the areas that received least money from the /EU/ would have voted for Brexit. And that the areas that received substantial amounts of EU money would have voted for Bremain.
As for the money received from the UK government one could esasely argue: We get plenty of money from our own geovernment, we do not need the EU. Vote Brexit so that our government does not have to pay the EU en we can get even more money from our own government...
