Well, that IS how I actually did it when I set my first steps on Fido over IP. I had Irex installed on a Win95 machine and moved the packets to a DOS machine running Intermail. But that setup didn't last for a week. I decided it was much simpler to scrap DOS and move everything to the Windows machine.

I used that too to move files from one DOS machine to another. There also was something with a 25 wire flat cable connecting the printer ports. It is ages ago, I forgot the details.
I am not one to look back. I have dumped DOS ages ago. I never want to go back to a single user single task environment. Yes, yes, I know, there were multitaskers for DOS. But they had their limits...
