100% agree.
The US should be the most successful country in the world being able to afford the kind of health care and at a cost that a bunch of western European contries can.
Instead it choses to subsidize an enormous military which in fact is a falsification of the unemployment figures because "I am in the military" does not equal "I am making a contribution to the economy".
Reducing the military would not create a global Armageddon because all these people would find their way in a different type of economy as has been demonstrated by the Scandinavian countries and some others.
Plus getting rid of the dirty coaling jobs and North Dakota oil fields ... it's all so short sighted and never beyond the scope of one presidential term. And when they finally have a president who dares to think long term (Obama) there's a shortsighted idiot (Trump) with his believers who destroy it all.
