It's a USB-drive as it moves between several machines and needs to be transportable.

I'm pretty certain it was NTFS-formatted but now the disk-manager says "RAW".

Anyway, I think this problem has now been dealt with. Just need to buy another disc as I don't trust it anymore, even if I can restore the content and rebuild the file system.
