Hello Bob,

RB> I was referring to the time that has passed since the referendum. And
RB> whether "they" will take years to compregend how to implement the
RB> decision is something we can't know at present.

Britain's approach to the Brexit is rather peculiar.

As we speak, confirmation hearings are being held in Brussels for Julian King [UK] who will be Britain's new Commissioner in the European Commission.

That makes it seem they're not in that much of a hurry.

RB> By the way, there's a good reason why the German government never allowed
RB> it's citizens to vote on EU membership or adoption of the Euro, much less
RB> on a Gerexit. The sentiment here is presumably not much different from
RB> that in the UK.

You seem to bypass 2 things:

1] The EU was created especially for Germany as an econo;ic union so that it
wouldn't go to war anymore with its eternal foes Britain and France. It
is often forgotton the EU is a peace-keeping tool. Expensive as it is to
maintain, it's still cheaper than a war and kills less people.

2] At the moment the EU's predecessor was created, Germany didn't have that
much going yet. It was a defeated nation with occupying forces all over
it ... I know ... I was there ... was obliged to walk around in uniform
to show they were conquered [I felt very bad about parading around in a
   uniform]

3] Germany was one of the 6 founding fathers. How can you be a founding
   father if you're not involved...

I'm 65, so I can't count either.
