It's a hardware upgrade and it should stay up uattended for 2 months, a year, several years.
In the past 8 summers that it ran unattended, the system did not fail because of hardware or software issues. In 2014 the main powerbox of the house spiked and blew sending a surge to everything that was switched-on and that killed the power-supply of the unit. Last year it was a manual intervention by a family member.
The system itself caused no issues.
I don't think there was a hardware malfunction just like that.

It has been my point for years, and I've often repeated it during those years, that I think a ZC should not involve him-/herself with echomail and file-distribution for more than one reason.
Therefor 2:292/854 does not act as an echomail hub. The FidoWeb takes care of any issues with a system conking-out.
As for file-distribution, I only carry the nodelist stuff and Fidonews. Other than that nothing.
There are hardly systems taking echomail here, 2:250/1 for example only takes ENET.SYSOP and REGCON.EUR, you know how "lively" and "indispensable" the chat in-there is. For most any other echomail, I am merely a leaf-node in the path.
