But you will agree that what you saw here is nothing compared to a winter in Finland, though certain parts of the Netherlands do have their own wintery micro-climate.

The problem here is the driver attitude towards wintery conditions, they don't know how to handle a single snowflake nor ice patch. And local municipal authorities usually compound the problems rather than solving them.
The official solution is "snow tyres for everyone" where the actual attitude of the drivers is the problem.
