The moment you colour the dot in the voting booth, you have transfered whatever power you had.
If the constitution says those democratically elected politicians can do as they please, then they can do as they indeed please. If there's not an "opt in/opt out" paragraph, then you're done.
Don't like the system? get enough votes yourself in the next election and get your election-platform enacted as "the law".
I have tried, not worth it ... politicians lead a life I don't want.
