Actually, I rather think it was no-one's business in the same way that what the Brits do about their brexit is none of our business either.
The sitting government renained in place, laws were crated and enacted, all international obligations fullfilled and Belgium held the Presidency for 6 months in an exemplary manner. Nobody there lost his/her sleep over it.
