David, you are right. I should not have written "every blackmail" just "heeded too many blackmails"
No other country of the EU got so many exemptions than the UK did.
When dealing with the EU I got always the impression that the sole purpose is to get the best deal for the UK, no matter what. From my point of view there are also european values that are important. And only pushing for exemptions without also looking at the greater picture is not a good idea.
Just my 2cents.
Anyway ... the UK made this discussion superfluous by voting itself out. I have to accept that, and now that there is a new prime minister I look forward to a quick parting, in order to minimise the impact on the UK and EU economies.
If the UK wants to pay more to have less impact on the politics, it is their right to have it their way ... I do not understand it, but I honor that they can do it.
They should just be quick about it, and not meander around the way they did before. Celebrate your new independance day!
