I used a professional sun filter from Baader for the partial phase. http://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/solar-observation/baader-solar-filter.html I had a GPS synchronized clock, and took off the filter with a generous security margin. It is quit safe, when you know what you are doing, and are prepared.
