You misunderstood the problem. I have a terminal window in which a Cyrillic font is used. I start Golded in this window and see your message using CP437, not CP866. But since the terminal uses a Cyrillic font, all the characters in the upper half of the character table I see as Cyrillic ones. The problem has nothing to do with replying to your message. The problem is in watching messages. The only correct solution is using utf-8 capable message editor (which Golded is not) and writing messages in utf-8.
