There was no bridging, the NAT was very minimalistic, but the routing worked just well.
This means your system didn't get kernel updates for almost a year (userspace update is possible without reboot, but updating the kernel requires reboot in some form).
You may be unpleasantly surprized unless you do update your system at least monthly (weekly is better, upon the release of updates is much better).
