Not really. Most sysops use multiple links as backups only. Certainly not to get a list of more echos.

I have links in 2 zones as you know, but what good is it for my BBS? Only the English speaking echos are of any use here. There are very few callers, and yes, I have seen telnets come in from your zone as well.

That is old style thinking. Today's Fidonet no longer has a requirement for a full BBS. I chose to run one, but am only one of very few left that do so. Nowhere in policy does it say that you MUST run a BBS. You must have a mailer available, but only at ZMH.
