If you are talking about the interim govt, then I think you are wrong. They are not attempting to overthrow that one. Only the Pro Russian Prime minister who strangely is now sitting in a small Russian city. instead of in his palace full of gold etc.

The only troops that are there (Russian) are the ones in the Naval Base. The rest flew in during the military 'exercises' near the Ukraine border. I think that is what they are trying to protect.
