If you are referring to "MSGID: 2:280/5555 52c80372" then it has zero utf-8 characters in it. I have yet to see any message from him that actually contains utf-8 characters. I've actually challenged him on this issue in the past when I first noticed him flying the "CHRS: UTF-8 4" flag. He ignored the challenge so I am left to conclude that either he cannot produce or doesn't wish to produce for whatever reason.
Given his choice of editor, and what we've been able to gleem from everyone else's attempts to produce utf-8 characters using Golded+, do you care to guess which conclusion I came to? :::evil grin:::
Anyone can pump out kludges. That in itself doesn't make them real. So far the only true utf-8 characters I've witnessed were never created using Golded+ ... or any other FTN sysop editor for that matter.
NB> Sorry about that. That was my fault - a bad typo. I meant CP850.
Ah! Perhaps he should be flying "CHRS: CP850 2" instead? That would make more sense until Golded+ gets their act together as far as true utf-8 character translations are concerned. I have serious doubts about it actually living up to the "CHRS: UTF-8 4" kludge as things appear to be in that particular world. How about you?
Life is good, Maurice
